WORLD MOUNTAINBOARD CHAMPIONSHIP AND ITALIAN MOUNTAINBOARD CHAMPIONSHIP
For the second consecutive year, Bardonecchia welcomes the big freeride mountainboard event. The start will be given at Pian del Sole and candidates will go down as far as Campo Smith, that is to say a 2-km long course and a difference in altitude of 300 meters, with a average speed of 40km/h and top speed until 60 km/h! The English, Pete Tatham, Europe and World champion, will have to defend his title against his main opponent the English Tom Kirkman. The two favorites will also have to defend the championship’s first places against hardened athletes such as Poles, Russians and Slovaks and complete French and Swiss teams. Riders coming from Brazil, Japan and even United-States – inventors of mountainboarding- will be expected. Programme: Friday 22th : arrival of the athletes and locating of the course Saturday 23rd: World mountainboard championship 5:00PM: longboard and skate carving show tests at Palazzetto dello Sport Sunday 24th: Junior Italian mountainboard championship (under 16) 4:00PM : championship award ceremony and public prizegiving Saturday afternoon 23th and Sunday 24th: come and practice mountainboarding with specialized teachers.
